Writing is my passion
I’ve been working on Mill Girl, a historical novel set in 1929.
I’m not going to say how long I’ve been working on my book because it’s embarrassing. Even my writer’s group is tired of it but I admit, they are soooooo patient. Having said that, when I started querying agents, a few wrote back saying my book would work better as a young adult novel. OMG – what is a young adult novel? I had no clue. I spent almost 2 years reading YA novels and realized agents were right. So, I signed up for an on-line class with Curtiss Brown Creative in London where I spent three-months in a YA Fiction course with the amazing Catherine Johnson. So much work, but so worth it.
Now, I’m working on what I hope is the final revision of my book and will start querying agents this Fall. I’ve already started another book (when I thought Mill Girl was finished) and I can’t wait to get back to it. I’ll post my first chapter soon.
